Add TV shows to Apple Calendar on iPhone, iPad and Mac

Apple Calendar supports iCal subscriptions natively. Subscribe to your tvcal feed once and every episode of the shows you follow appears on its air date, on all your Apple devices.

On iPhone or iPad (one tap)

  1. Open tvcal in Safari and add shows to your watchlist, or open any show page.
  2. Tap “Subscribe in Calendar” and choose System Default Calendar.
  3. When iOS asks “Subscribe to this calendar?”, tap Subscribe, then Add.

On iPhone or iPad (manually)

  1. In tvcal, copy your calendar link.
  2. Open Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts → Add Account → Other. On older iOS versions this is Settings → Calendar → Accounts.
  3. Tap “Add Subscribed Calendar”, paste the link, then tap Next and Save.

On Mac

  1. Open the Calendar app and choose File → New Calendar Subscription.
  2. Paste your tvcal link and click Subscribe.
  3. Set Location to iCloud so it syncs to your iPhone, choose an Auto-refresh interval, and click OK.

Tips

  • Choose iCloud as the location to get the calendar on every device signed in to your Apple Account.
  • Set Auto-refresh to every hour or every day so date changes come through quickly.
  • To change the colour on iPhone, open Calendar → Calendars and tap the ⓘ next to tvcal.

Apple Calendar TV calendar FAQ

Is an iCal subscription the same as Apple Calendar?

iCal is the open calendar format (.ics) that Apple Calendar, Google Calendar and Outlook all understand. Apple Calendar can subscribe to an iCal link and keep it updated.

Why don't new episodes show up straight away?

Apple Calendar refreshes subscriptions at the interval you choose. On Mac you can force a refresh with View → Refresh Calendars.

How do I remove the calendar?

On iPhone, go to Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts → Subscribed Calendars and delete it. On Mac, right-click the calendar and choose Unsubscribe.
